Large-scale Moscow's Assaults Cut Electricity Across Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have faced escalating strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused electricity outages in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were wounded while residents in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and faced disruption to water systems, according to municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a young boy was fatally injured in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, as reported by area administrators.

Moscow has escalated attacks on electrical systems over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "real steps" from partner nations to exert influence on Moscow.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the America, the EU and the major economies - in providing protection systems and enforcing penalties," mentioned in a social media post.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen rockets attacked energy facilities, describing such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were working to repair systems.

A wave of strikes damaged electrical systems and civilian homes in the capital.

Multiple people wounded in the attacks on the capital have been hospitalized, according to city authorities.

Regional authorities said the city endured significant strikes during nighttime hours. A young boy lost their life and several individuals were hurt.

The attacks come after periods of air raids in the territory, sections of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

The whole nation is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to spot.

Authorities told the media that Russia was deliberately attempting to demolish the national power system, with attacks already impacting energy systems.

He said technical personnel and officials were bracing for more assaults.
