Nineteen of the Russian's 21 championships have been achieved on hard courts

A comeback the Russian player won his maiden championship for 882 days with victory over Corentin Moutet in the tournament championship match.

Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult season, managing just one win at the big events and experiencing a meltdown at the US Open.

The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in particular - caused him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with former coach Cervara.

Currently working with his coach and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the past month - climaxing in a tightly fought competitive win over opponent Corentin Moutet.

It is Medvedev's maiden title following the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt after March of 2023.

Success also signifies he has achieved 21 championships at 21 distinct tournaments.

"It's the first time I have attended a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my second daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six title deciders, comprising in Halle previously this season.

Medvedev's retrieving approach and recurring outbursts on the tennis court had led commentators to doubt if his ability to compete at the elite level was concluded.

Yet the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and compete positively, reinforced by an improved serve.

The champion recovered from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult opponent, taking 4 of the final five points to gain the advantage.

Both players traded break points in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his first professional title, gained dominance to force a third set.

Moutet saved four initial break points in a close final set before the Russian won the break to that score to close out the victory.

Suitably, he earned the win with a point at the net, with Moutet failing to manage a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
